November PAD turned out to be a great experience for me. I went from I can’t really write poetry to calling myself a beginner poet. I loved the intensity and the pace as well.
Going through to select a quarter of the poems for the chapbook submissions was pretty hard for me. It was liking playing favorites with your kids. I will be participating in the weekly poetry prompts offered by Poetic Asides every Wednesday to continue to bolster my poetry craft.
I feel as a writer that which I need to express sometimes needs to come out in poetry as opposed to prose.
