I must admit that have been deriving more insight into myself with the intense focus of reflective writing. I have written three pieces so far on the topic of “Happiness”. I was surprised with the direction all three pieces took:
I plan to focus a whole month on the topic of “Happiness”. It will be interesting to see where this journey will take me and how much learning I will be doing along the way.

Well, I have chosen this layout for the site after exploring many alternatives. One of the key differences is the navigation to the different pages on the site. In the sidebar, which can be found to the left, there is a section titles “Pages”. It shows the navigation hierarchy of the site.
So far, I have added a page for Reflective Writing and Happiness as well as posted my first Happiness piece there. I have also begun the exploration of a possible Poetry Corner. Time will tell how well it goes.

Hello All,
It has been a while since my last post. The reason for that has been that I needed to take the time and figure and out how I want to use this blogging podium. Right now, my blog fits into the following categories: Inspiration and Motivation, New Realization and The Writing Craft.
What I would really like to is introduce reflective writing to this site. I want to ultimately study the following human sentiments:
I am really excited contemplating this project. As a writer, this will give me further insight into making more human characters. As a person, this will give me ample opportunity to learn and grow. When we reflect on what something is, sometimes we also reflect on what it is not. I hope that you will derive much from this in depth look into human sentiment.
I would like to share more of the finer lessons on the writing craft that I have stumbled upon… my “aha” moments as a writer. Finally, I would like to share book reviews of stories I have read with an added twist; the writer’s perspective as a reader.
In short, lots of good things are planned for the year. I will be exploring different site layouts over the next few weeks to see which one fits closest to how I want to make the information accessible.
Loving this journey,
Meena

If you would not be forgotten when you are dead and rotten, either write things worth the reading or do things worth the writing.

November PAD turned out to be a great experience for me. I went from I can’t really write poetry to calling myself a beginner poet. I loved the intensity and the pace as well.
Going through to select a quarter of the poems for the chapbook submissions was pretty hard for me. It was liking playing favorites with your kids. I will be participating in the weekly poetry prompts offered by Poetic Asides every Wednesday to continue to bolster my poetry craft.
I feel as a writer that which I need to express sometimes needs to come out in poetry as opposed to prose.

I have been very pre-occupied during the month of November with the poem a day challenge by Writer’s Digest. It has been an intense experience for me. Some of the prompts led to a poem within a sheer 5 minutes. There were others that I grappled with for a long time.
There are 3 more days to the challenge. After that we get the month of December to assemble a Chapbook Manuscript. Given that I do not know what chapbooks are, I will begin researching these.
I will check back in when I have a better idea.

I was really looking forward to the Poetics Aside November PAD Challenge as well. However, the website appears to be down.
I am sad.
Well, it appears that the site came back up.

So, NaNoWriMo has officially kicked off and we’re up, up and away. The first burst yielded 781 words, a little more than quarter of the way for the day’s goal.
Three is a specially number in the structure of this novel and its inner mythology as well. So, it appears the book will be ~90,000 words long. I’d like to get it all down in November. This leaves me with 3000 a day; another multiple of three.
My main character is Anwen Bahnean. She is appearing to be quite the piece of work despite her young age.
I am truly looking forward to this fun ride.

So, I have defined about as many of the important characters as I am going to need. I am now moving on to figuring out the plot outline. After closeting myself with the main character, it became clear that the story structure for my NaNoWriMo 09 novel had to be the Female Mythic Journey.
I have figured out which elements need to be included in ACT I, ACT II, and ACTIII and what they represent. There weren’t any real guidelines as to the pace of the story. I suppose that it is in the end up to me.
I have between Monday and Friday of this week to figure out my story in headline format and to develop the Climax scene, the Opening scene and the Closing scene and identify my other major scenes: where complications are introduced and where the main character must decide.
Saturday, I plan on resting.
Sunday, this is when I officially begin with 2 three hour writing sessions. The target is 1700-2000 words per session. Since I am working on a Sci-Fi novel for YA and into the adult market, the completed Novel should be about ~90 000 words long. If I can keep a 3000 word a day word count, then I can finish the full length novel during the month.
In closing, I would like to offer up three cheers for my creative muse.
